My favorite blog that I came across finding in class of one of my fellow colleagues was this. I enjoy it because not only is the back ground interesting and cool, I also found it rather comical. For instance, on the side of he or she's blog, they have a picture of whom I believe is King Neptune (my assumptions were made from their blog url, king-neptune) turtle palming (say what?) a turtle. I'm not quite sure what exactly that is but I think it is rather amusing.
Not only did I enjoy this blog as a whole but I also thought their Dead Poets Society claim paragraph was the best that I have seen. I was intrigued with the entire paragraph because of the amount of detail and close observations the blogger had made. For example, my personal favorite part of the paragraph was the following, "Later on, as the students say goodbye to their parents, a loud church bell overcasts all that is going on. This creates a rather ominous feeling or maybe even creates a feel of foreshadowing, since the bell tolls as the parents depart from their children." I really liked this because it totally opened my eyes to a whole new vision and obsersvation about the movie. Props to this blogger.
"Sadly, reading has never really been a large part of my life." With this first opening sentence of the bloggers literacy narrative, I instantly connected to the blogger because I too have not really been a big book worm. However, after just a couple short weeks of being in this class, I'm already hooked into reading. I'm excited to be able to connect to other bloggers and hear their recommendations of books for me to read.
