Close-Reading

For this particular assignment, I decided to pick a couple's Brooklyn apartment's interior design. It's rather interesting, actually.
Architecture - Boxy, unusual ceiling design, small rooms, repetitive shapes, wood designs on wall, room accessories are unique shapes (making up for lack of architectural interest from the apartment itself)
Style - Vintage, Indie, hipster, cluttered yet organized, mix of prints, pairs of objects, (in certain rooms) simple
Color - Neutral walls, periodic punches of color through accessories, neutral accessories
Lighting - Large windows, natural lighting, dark reading nooks
Within this fabulously Indie decorated Brooklyn apartment, an expression of pure independence and freedom exists between the walls. The mixture of different printed rugs, wall papers, and linens continually grasps the viewers attention and repeatedly surprises them with every corner. This cluttered apartment uniquely gives an organized sense with most things coming in multiples such as the mirrors, spoons, and books. As you first start to look through the photographs, a sense of anxiety and stress begins to build because so much is happening in such small living quarters. However, as you work though the rest of the snapshots, a few rooms showcase serenity.
